these are the final tracks i'll be releasing for my new album RELENTLESS which will be released in full on 13 november via bankrupt records (bankruptworldwide.bandcamp.com)

guitar on relentless was performed by REUBEN SAMUEL WINTER in balmoral in november 2015. the rest of the track was made in melbourne in november 2020 on my laptop and a grainy sampler.

i traveled to auckland to stay with reuben for two weeks and finish up the album i was working on. this was my first time meeting daniel smith, whose album s-e-l-f-e-s-t-e-e-m reuben was also helping to finish. i even ended up doing a few warbly tape dubs which made it onto that album. feels like the first half of the 2010's nz music scene was so interlaced and collaborative. or maybe that was just reu.

i did some noodling on reuben's trusted bass station on one tune of mine called stuck in a rut and recorded heaps of his percussive bits and bobs which went into the skymning drum kit and have been used countless times since. and reuben laid down this absolute fucking shredder. we watched so much vine and zap de spion and ate good and laughed. it was a beautiful couple of weeks with some beautiful people in a mouldy and untenable house.

lost my way was recorded in the middle of the night following an extended (continued?) bout of anxiety in titirangi on 24 march 2021 using an sp-303, su-10, tape plater & delay pedal.
